ScanTec operate well logging (borehole geophysical) equipment for geotechnical, environmental, groundwater and exploration applications.
- Fracture and geological structure investigation (detailed 3D images of borehole walls showing fracture and bedding orientation)
- Shear wave velocity (in–situ P and S wave velocity for geotechnical site assessment)
- Casing inspections (cracks in steel casing, cement bonding)
We have 4WD and helicopter portable equipment with winches of 500m and 900m depth capacity. ScanTec operate Mount Sopris logging equipment.
Our most popular logging probe is a ABI-40 Acoustic Televiewer to provide high resolution imaging of bedding and fractures, hole deviation and casing inspection. This operates through PVC casing for added security in fractured formations. Typically this is used for geotechnical investigation and mineral exploration projects. The data is processed and presented using WellCAD software.
